HOW
DOES THE SCHEME WORK ?? |
| How does it work? |
Simple - we leave you six WHITE sacks free of charge. You
let us know when you have filled them |
We'll arrange a collection, take it
away and leave you another 6 free WHITE sacks. |
| What else do I need know? |
What you CAN put
in your WHITE sacks |
You can put any paper that is predominantly
white and has no plastic or glue. If you have any ink cartridges, you just put them back in their boxes and leave with your sacks. Shredded paper should be in separate sacks from non-shredded paper.
See RECYCLING OPTIONS for the ful list |
| and ... |
What you CAN'T put
in your WHITE sacks |
Some paper is not allowed.
See RECYCLING OPTIONS for the full list |
| What if I have other things I want to
recycle that aren't included in the WHITE PAPER
scheme |
You can purchase additional sacks to
recycle almost anything. |
BLUE sacks for mixed paper and CLEAR sacks for cans and plastic bottles are sold in bundles of 10 and
collection is free when collected along with WHITE sacks -
BLUE and CLEAR sacks are not replaced when collected; new ones must be purchased.
See RECYCLING
OPTIONS for the full list |
| Tell me more about collections? |
We'll arrange collection of your 6 sacks when they are all full - just give us a call 020 8385 8000 or send an email |
If you have purchased additional sacks
we can normally collect all these different recyclables
at the same time. This minimises vehicle movements and
offers you the most efficient service. What's more they
normally count towards your minimum collection requirements
of 6 sacks. |
| I can't see what I want to recycle on
the full recycling options list? |
See our A-Z
of recycling for everything else not already mentioned! |
There are only 2 items we cannot recycle, ream
wrappers (these coated water-proof wrappers must
be thrown away) and photocopier
toner refills. |
| Why can't I mix everything together? |
We realise that it's sometimes hard
to keep all the different recyclables separate and to keep
rubbish out of the recycling bins. Why then do we insist
upon this when it would be so much easier to mix everything
together? |
Mixing recyclables is the quickest way
to destroy their environmental value. Instead of clean
materials that can be easily used by industry to produce
valuable new products, we end up with a horrible mixture
that is either exported to China where labourers will hand-sort
it for £1 / day, or is fit only for burning or the
most basic recycling options. Mixing recyclables together
produces just one thing - more rubbish! |
| We'd like people to know we are making
an effort to help the environment, is this possible? |
Yes - we will supply you with a Certificate you can display in
your office which shows you have an award for Office
Recycling |
We strongly believe that office recycling
goes hand in hand with office cleaning and that it not
only falls on the office to show initiative in this area
but it is also a responsibilty of the cleaning companies
to "do their bit". That is why we offer
you the certificate in the hope that others will follow
suit and also offer our Cleanforce customers recycling
as one of our services. |
